TikTok Cancelled the Song by Removing the Video in Just 12 Hours! Twitter Recently Suspended Artist Account as Well!
Mt. Kisco, NY – The One Six is a new ensemble whose musical mission is to make strong and honest political statements against Donald Trump and the dangers he poses to America. Their first single “Be Afraid” has recently been released and is currently building momentum among Democrats, anti-fascists, resistors of all stripes, and regular people concerned about the threats to American democracy.
The One Six was formed by music industry veteran Brian Lukow, using his contacts to recruit four incredibly talented professional singers, who with the rise of violent threats, political backlash, and violence from the MAGA faithful, have chosen to remain anonymous.
Lukow wrote the group’s first single after watching the January 6th committee hearings. Lukow stated, “I was appalled by the insurrection, it’s enablers and the state of our country. I was moved to write “Be Afraid” to put the exposed corruption to words and music.” He adds, “While there have been many musical parodies pertaining to our current political state, this song is an anthem for accountability and change, and was inspired by Bob Dylan’s classic topical hit “Hurricane.”
This song is a departure for Lukow, whose background has been primarily with the creation of teen idols including the successful boy band Dream Street, and girl groups Huckapoo and Drama Drama. This song is accompanied by a powerful lyric video to help further promote his message.
After only 12 hours on TikTok, the video was ironically removed, citing “violent extremism.” The cancelling of the video on the popular video sharing app is all the more shocking since the video is against the violent extremism of the January 6 rioters. Luckily, for everyone concerned about further political violence in the US, the video can still be found on YouTube and the song is available anywhere listeners stream music.
