Los Angeles’ Ediblehead, a dynamic, dance driven new alt-pop duo who rose from the ashes of popular electronic rockers West Indian Girl bring their bright debut single and video “Hearts on Fire” February 12. The single comes at a perfect time, when the world truly needs some fun!

Ediblehead is the creation of Robby Rockit and Eva Zeva, former bandmates in the acclaimed Astralwerks dream rock band West Indian Girl, known for tracks such as “What Are You Afraid Of?” and “Hollywood”, which are still regularly played on KCRW and other LA stations. Then known as Robert James, he was West Indian Girl’s founder, lead singer and guitarist. At Astralwerks, Rockit released two albums, and also recorded with labelmates Chemical Brothers. He connected with Eva at a private show and they joined forces for West Indian Girl’s final release. They have since been incubating a fusion of art, fashion, tech and transcendence with their music, for a vibe that can best be described as The B-52s meets Burning Man.

Ediblehead’s first single and video “Hearts On Fire” will preview their album Animal Lick Stick, due in the late Spring. Animal Lick Stick was engineered, produced, and mixed by mastermind Rockit at his studio in Los Angeles. Additional production was done at the West Hollywood studio of Matt Sorum, whose work has included Guns and Roses, Velvet Revolver and The Cult, along with producer/engineer Francis O’ Reilly. “Hearts On Fire” was mastered by Grammy winning engineer Rueben Cohen, celebrated for his work on Pharrell’s “Happy”. The “Hearts On Fire” video was directed by Billy Vortex.

“There’s definitely an artistic pulse happening in L.A.” says Robby Rockit. “The music scene is so diversified. It doesn’t matter what genre it is, people come out as long as it’s good. It’s an interesting time. We tap into a big mix of ideas and energies here.”  Eva Zeva, an accomplished belly dancer and multi-talented artist, takes the lead on Ediblehead’s incredible styling. “I’m always looking for new inspiration. I’m all about supporting new artists and designers. I know what it takes to be a creator of your own art. I want to inspire and be inspired.”

Now that the album is finished the duo will be gigging around, spreading the love and energy that is Ediblehead throughout LA’s clubs and underground party scene.
