Bhakti Fest, creator of national yoga and kirtan events in the enduring yoga festival scene is pleased to announce Bhakti Fest Midwest 2015 on June 26 through 28 at the Willow Island Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin. In its fifth year, the Bhakti Fest Midwest is the premiere event of its kind in the region, bringing yoga, kirtan music, wisdom workshops, and a healing sanctuary to America’s heartland.
Kirtan superstar and Grammy Award nominee Krishna Das is amongst the internationally beloved musicians performing the continuous, uplifting kirtan (chanting) sets. Also on the concert stage are Radhanath Swami, Sean Johnston & The Wild Lotus Band, Jaya Lakshmi & Ananda, David Newman, Zach Ketterhagen, Crown of Eternity, Old-Time Blue Grass Kirtan, and others. The centuries-old practice of devotional chanting is considered to connect humans with themselves, the universe, and spirit.
Bhakti Fest Midwest offers the opportunity to attend classes with world renown instructors, leading sessions in a variety of yoga disciplines. The teacher line up includes Govind Das & Radha, Mark Whitwell, Saul David Raye, Amy T, Lisa Gniady, Sherry Sidoti, Shannon Connell, Missy Balsam, Dr. Saraswati Markus, Marti Tribble and Aubree Saia.
Wisdom workshops will be held on diverse subjects including breathwork, Vedic studies, tantric energy, alternative health disciplines, astrology, sound healing, and meditation. Instructors include Michael Brian Baker, Anand of Rishikesh, Manoj Chalam, David Newman, India, Michael Cohen, David Nichtern, Katherine Austin and Sugar Yum Yum, who guides children’s yoga and gong master Preston Klick. A pre-festival intensive with Sean Johnson & The Wild Lotus Band will be held on Thursday, June 25.
The Bhakti Fest Midwest Eco Village features vegan, vegetarian, raw, and super food choices, artwork, and shopping options including yoga fashion, gemstones, ethnic instruments. The Healing Sanctuary provides services in different massage techniques and spiritual readings.
