NextAid, a leading nonprofit organization that harnesses the power of music to support sustainable development projects that serve vulnerable children, youth and women in Africa, announces its fifth annual World AIDS Day event and its inaugural Art Basel event. In partnership with Dream Hotel and the Environmental Coalition of Miami & the Beaches (ECOMB), the event will showcase the work of noted painter Erin Parish, who is graciously donating a portion of art sales to the associated non-profit organizations in a hip, cool and conscious musical environment. Sounds for the event will be provided by legendary house music diva Ultra Nate’, along with popular Miami spinner, DJ Aladdin. The art and music showcase will take place from 5pm-9pm on December 1st at Dream South Beach 1111 Collins Ave. Eco-friendly cocktails will be provided by environmental beverage company VeeV Açaí Spirits. World AIDS Day is recognized globally and takes place every year on December 1st to acknowledge the loss of millions of lives over 30 years. NextAid honors the memories of those lost by activating the international dance music community to raise funds and awareness for populations currently being affected by AIDS, particularly women and children in Africa who carry the burden of the pandemic. Proceeds from this event will support NextAid’s current projects in Africa, including the construction of an eco-friendly, micro-enterprise facility for street youth which trains and employs young HIV positive mothers and others at risk due to lack of income. It will also benefit ECOMB, one of Miami-Dade County’s leading environmental organizations promoting community sustainability through litter prevention, community recycling, habitat restoration and carbon footprint reduction strategies.
